Eligibility
- NMMSS की प्रमुख eligibility conditions इस प्रकार हैं:
- Student के parents की सभी sources से annual income ₹3.50 लाख से अधिक नहीं होनी चाहिए।
- Selection Test में शामिल होने के लिए Class VII examination में कम से कम 55% marks या equivalent grade होना चाहिए।
- SC/ST students को इस marks requirement में 5% relaxation दिया जाता है।
- Student State Government, Government-aided या Local Body school में पढ़ रहा होना चाहिए।
- Class IX level पर scholarship पाने के लिए student को संबंधित State/UT द्वारा आयोजित qualifying examination/selection process में निर्धारित conditions पूरी करनी होती हैं।

NMMSS Scholarship 2026-27 की Last Date क्या है?
NMMSS Scholarship 2026-27 के लिए National Scholarship Portal पर application जमा करने की नई Last Date 30 सितंबर 2026 है।
शिक्षा मंत्रालय ने 1 सितंबर 2026 को जारी official update में deadline extension की जानकारी दी है। इसके अनुसार selected meritorious students अब 30 सितंबर तक अपना scholarship application पूरा कर सकते हैं।
यानी NMMSS 2026-27 के लिए अभी सबसे महत्वपूर्ण तारीख 30 September 2026 है।
NMMSS Scholarship क्या है?
National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) शिक्षा मंत्रालय के Department of School Education & Literacy की scholarship scheme है।
इस योजना का उद्देश्य आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर वर्ग के मेधावी छात्रों को financial support देना है, ताकि वे कक्षा 8 के बाद पढ़ाई न छोड़ें और अपनी school education को higher secondary level यानी कक्षा 12 तक जारी रख सकें।
NMMSS के तहत हर साल Class IX के लिए 1 लाख fresh scholarships दी जाती हैं। इसके बाद scholarship निर्धारित conditions के अनुसार Class X, XI और XII में renewal के जरिए जारी रह सकती है।
NMMSS Scholarship में कितने रुपये मिलते हैं?
NMMSS के तहत selected eligible student को ₹12,000 प्रति वर्ष scholarship मिलती है।
Official information के अनुसार scholarship की राशि selected students के bank accounts में electronic transfer के जरिए PFMS के माध्यम से DBT mode में भेजी जाती है।
इसलिए NMMSS में मिलने वाली ₹12,000 राशि को सामान्य cash scheme की तरह नहीं समझना चाहिए। यह eligible और selected students के लिए scholarship benefit है।
NMMSS का Selection कैसे होता है?
NMMSS में scholarship के लिए students का selection संबंधित State/UT Government द्वारा आयोजित qualifying examination के आधार पर किया जाता है।
Official Ministry information के अनुसार Class IX के लिए fresh scholarship उन students को दी जाती है जो State/UT Government द्वारा आयोजित qualifying examination को clear करते हैं।
इसलिए Selection Exam और NSP Application दो अलग-अलग stages हैं।
सरल तरीके से समझें:
State/UT Selection Process → Student Selected → NSP पर OTR → Scholarship Application → Verification
यानी NSP पर application भरना अपने आप scholarship मिलने की guarantee नहीं है।
NMMSS 2026-27 में OTR जरूरी है
2026-27 academic year में selected students को National Scholarship Portal पर One Time Registration यानी OTR करना होगा।
इसके बाद OTR के माध्यम से selected scholarship scheme के लिए application submit किया जाता है। Ministry के latest update में भी 2026-27 के लिए selected students द्वारा OTR करने के बाद scholarship scheme के लिए application करने की बात कही गई है।
NSP के अनुसार OTR student को दिया जाने वाला unique number है और यह scholarship applications के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है।
NMMSS 2026-27 Verification Dates
NMMSS application की verification दो levels पर होती है।
L1 Verification: Institute Nodal Officer (INO) द्वारा — 15 अक्टूबर 2026 तक
L2 Verification: District Nodal Officer (DNO) द्वारा — 31 अक्टूबर 2026 तक
इसलिए application submit करने के बाद केवल application number मिल जाने पर रुकना नहीं चाहिए। Verification भी scholarship process का महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा है।
2026-27 में कितने NMMSS Applications जमा हुए?
शिक्षा मंत्रालय के 1 सितंबर 2026 के official update के अनुसार 31 अगस्त 2026 तक 79,398 fresh और 1,87,208 renewal applications जमा किए जा चुके थे।
यह आंकड़ा 31 अगस्त तक submit किए गए applications का है। इसे final selected beneficiaries की संख्या नहीं समझना चाहिए।
क्या NMMSS के साथ दूसरी Scholarship भी ली जा सकती है?
Academic Year 2026-27 से NSP पर students को एक merit-based scholarship scheme और एक या उससे अधिक welfare-based scholarship schemes के लिए apply करने की अनुमति है, बशर्ते वे संबंधित schemes की eligibility conditions पूरी करते हों।
इसलिए students को किसी दूसरी scholarship के लिए apply करने से पहले उसकी eligibility और scheme rules जरूर check करने चाहिए।
